PUMA Enhances Customer Experience with New Store Locator

How PUMA Turns Online Users into Store Customers with Our Maps Application

PUMA is setting new standards in customer experience: with a revamped store locator, the online and offline worlds are seamlessly connected. The goal is to standardize the brand’s presence in international markets, promote offline purchases, and provide customers with an intuitive way to locate PUMA stores worldwide – regardless of their location.

Unified Store Locator for Global Markets

Before our collaboration, PUMA's e-commerce segment was tailored to individual markets, often with inconsistent data foundations. Ubilabs was tasked with developing a centralized solution to address this challenge.

The process began with designing an optimized user experience based on clearly defined business requirements. Using this foundation, we created a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) that covered the core functionalities. We then developed a centralized admin interface and the new store locator, continuously improving and equipping them with additional features.

Centralized Data Management – Consistent Worldwide

The centerpiece of the solution is an admin interface that consolidates data from all PUMA stores worldwide in one place. To ensure data quality, the system integrates the Google Maps Platform. Existing information, such as store names, addresses, and opening hours, was imported from PUMA's network and updated by cross-referencing Google data. This "single source of truth" ensures that master data remains consistent and up-to-date across the globe.

With the new store locator, customers can easily search for PUMA stores nearby and view information on the locations as well as the fastest routes to get there.

User-Friendly Design Meets Powerful Technology

The store locator's frontend is based on the Google Maps Platform and designed as a responsive web application optimized for mobile devices. Adhering to corporate design guidelines, the store locator integrates seamlessly with PUMA’s global website. Google Autocomplete simplifies location selection for users, while a list view displays nearby stores with details such as addresses and operating hours.

Additionally, the user experience is enhanced by integrating Google Places data. Users can view store photos, read Google reviews, and check travel options by car, bike, public transport, or on foot – all within a single web application. New features, such as a filter function and upcoming opening and closing times from Google Maps, continuously improve the store locator.

Focus on Security and Scalability

Given the extensive data involved, it was crucial to create a secure foundation. A robust authentication system ensures that only authorized PUMA employees with admin rights have access. These administrators can unlock additional user profiles and customize role-based and country-specific permissions.

A Future-Proof Platform for Global Customer Proximity

With its new store locator, PUMA has embraced an innovative solution that combines technology and user-friendliness. Ubilabs has significantly optimized the customer experience while creating a future-proof platform that meets global demands and can be continuously enhanced.

  • In transforming our store locator with Ubilabs and Google Maps technologies, we've not only streamlined our operational efficiency but also elevated our customer experience. This project demonstrates the power of leveraging cutting-edge tech to address real-world retail challenges.
